As the nation is still reeling from reports that a six-year-old student threatened to catch people on fire and watch them burn and then brought a gun to school and shot his teacher in the chest, there are new reports that an eight-year-old boy cut the throat of a youth with a knife and threatened “to kill everyone.”
WESH-TV reported that police arrested an eight-year-old Florida boy after he was in an altercation with a 13-year-old, grabbed a knife, cut his throat and then threatened bystanders.
The Saturday assault occurred in the garage of a home in Lake County, Florida. The local sheriff’s office told WESH-TV the incident began when the victim was allegedly “elbowed in the stomach” by the assailant.
According to the report, the eight-year-old attacked the victim again later that day, reportedly choking him “until he said he could not breathe.”
According to the affidavit, the victim “kicked his assailant off of him during the second attack.” The assailant then allegedly grabbed a knife and lunged toward the victim, cutting his throat.
Police report a neighbor intervened and grabbed the knife. Reportedly, the attacker then picked up a “stick” and attempted to hit his victim. Several who came on the scene to see what was happening stopped the boy from using the stick as a weapon.
When stopped from hitting his victim with a stick, the eight-year-old boy reportedly threatened to “kill everyone.”
The Western Journal reported the young boy allegedly then went into the house to find another knife.
The New York Post reported the Lake County sheriff’s deputies arrived to find the eight-year-old “crying” and begging not to be arrested and taken away.
Reportedly, as deputies placed the boy into a police vehicle, he attempted to attack officers, kicking one deputy in the stomach.
The Western Journal noted the victim is a 13-year-old foster child. He reportedly suffered a three-inch relatively superficial cut on his neck.
WESH-TV reported that officers transported the attacker to the Lake County Detention Center. The boy is reportedly charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery by strangulation, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting a law enforcement officer.
