Actor Jeremy Renner remains in “critical but stable condition” in a Reno, Nevada, hospital ICU ward following a snowplowing accident on Sunday.
On Wednesday, Renner posted a brief note and pic via Instagram.
“Thank you all for your kind words,” Renner wrote. “Im [sic] too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.” His post also included a praying hand emoji.
On Thursday, 911 logs were released, providing additional insight into what was happening in the first moments after Renner’s near-fatal New Year’s Day accident.
According to TMZ, the 911 call reveals that Renner was “completely crushed” by the Snowcat snowplow.
In addition to his leg wound, which required a tourniquet, the 911 call indicates the right side of Renner’s chest had collapsed, his upper torso was crushed and lacerations to his head caused significant blood loss.
Renner was plowing his driveway Sunday morning so that family members could leave his residence; heavy snow blanketed the area Saturday evening. Renner reportedly stepped out of the Snowcat to speak with a relative, and when he attempted to reenter the vehicle, it rolled onto him.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Darin Balaam noted that the Snowcat weighed at least 14,330 pounds, per a report in People.
Police have ruled the incident an accident but are investigating why standard safety features on the Snowcat failed.
On Thursday morning, Renner posted that he was having a “not so great day,” but was encouraged by a visit (and “amazing spa” service) from his sister and mother.
