Controversy continues to swirl around the death of multiplatinum award-winning singer and music producer Aaron Carter. His body was found in his bathroom on Nov. 5, 2022. His fiancée, Melanie Martin, contends he was murdered.
Martin, a controversial figure in her own right, joins Carter’s mother Jane in alleging that Aaron was murdered.
Martin recently told the Sun: “Many factors discussed with the police and coroner do not add up to [a] simple overdose.”
Martin added: “I want to know what really happened so I can focus on raising our son Prince without constantly losing sleep on what happened to his father every night.”
Carter, 34, was known to have mental challenges and substance abuse issues. His body was discovered alongside prescription pill bottles and cans of compressed air. Authorities confirm that though his tub was full of water, he did not drown.
A coroner’s report indicated Carter died of an “accidental drug overdose.”
Jane Carter and Melanie Martin assert drug dealers killed Carter after a “deal gone wrong” and demand a “real investigation.”
Jane Carter received negative feedback after posting photos of what she refers to as a crime scene.
Adding to the speculation is that Aaron’s cell phone was not used in the 24 hours preceding his death. Martin told the Sun that Aaron “was inseparable from his iPhone.”
“I never saw Aaron leave his phone unattended, especially well away from where he was found,” Martin claimed, inferring that unprecedented events preceded his death.
Martin claims that “many things” about Aaron’s death “do not add up.” She shared she is seeking answers to have closure, and so her young son “will have answers when he gets older.”
Martin claimed that “a proper investigation was not done.” She has pointed to how Aaron “rarely used the tub,” how the bathroom door was unlocked, and how their dog exhibited strange behavior as indicators there is more to the story.
“With how long [Aaron] supposedly was in there with our dog Zelda, it doesn’t add up how our dog didn’t use the restroom there,” she said. She also wonders “how Zelda, a trained service dog, didn’t damage a thing while Aaron was in there.”
“Nothing of the last few days of his life added up to a normal pattern,” Martin added.
In a closing statement to the Sun, Martin said: “Hopefully one day soon we’ll have an answer [as to what happened to Aaron] instead of telling [her son] Prince years from now ‘I wish we knew.'”
