Actor Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable condition” in a Reno, Nevada, hospital following a snow plowing accident on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the actor provided a brief update to Deadline, noting that Renner sustained significant “injuries” after “experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow” early Sunday morning at his home in Reno.
The spokesperson said family members are at Renner’s side and that the actor is “receiving excellent care,” according to Deadline.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Renner owns a home in Nevada, was injured in Reno, and was airlifted to a hospital. According to the sheriff’s report, Renner was the only person injured in the accident.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, the accident happened on Sunday morning near Mt. Rose Highway in Reno. An excerpt from the release reads:
“At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.”
“Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital. Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.”
Fox News confirmed that Renner has a home near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe. Over the weekend, that area was hit by a winter storm, causing more than 35,000 homes to lose power.
Renner is a two-time Oscar nominee. He is perhaps best known for his role as the superhero Clint Barton (“Hawkeye”) in several Marvel movies and Disney+ television shows.
Renner was also nominated for Best Actor in 2010 for his role in the movie “The Hurt Locker” and Best Supporting Actor in 2011 for his role in “The Town.”
Renner currently stars in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown.” Following a successful first season, season two of the drama is scheduled to begin airing on January 15.
