President Joe Biden tripped Wednesday climbing stairs, which prompted an offer from a stairlift company to make his airplane #StairForceOne.
“Tired of stumbling up the stairs?” asked Acorn Stairlifts in a Thursday Twitter post. “We strive to help all of those in need across our nation. Whether you live in small town USA or on Pennsylvania Avenue, we are ready to help you regain your independence. Contact us for your free, no-obligation quote today!”
Acorn Stairlifts describes the company as specializing in the manufacture and installation of stairlifts. The company apparently decided to have some fun with the concept after their initial post went viral. A subsequent post added hashtags for ChairForceOne, StairForce and StairForceOne.
A Friday post featuring an unshaven Danny DeVito riding a stairlift in a bathrobe while chair dancing. Surprisingly enough, adding the star to a further punch-up of Gerald Ford’s moment as president did not catch on with the Twitterverse, recording fewer than 1,000 views.
That contrasts with 236,000 views of the company’s initial, gentle jab at the gaffe-prone president. While that may not seem like a ton of eyeballs, the company only has 356 followers. That may change if the joke becomes meme-worthy.
President Biden’s recent stumble follows the release of White House Physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor’s statement that a medical evaluation found the president fit for office.
“President Biden remains a healthy, vigorous 80-year-old male, who is fit to execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those of Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief,” O’Connor stated in a February 16 statement.
Former President Gerald Ford was infamous for his stumbling, bumbling ways but he was not an octogenarian incumbent prepared to run for reelection.
Biden has not officially declared his candidacy for the 2024 Democratic Party presidential nomination but has expressed plans to do so.
