Former President Joe Biden raised eyebrows and sparked widespread concern after video footage revealed a prominent surgical scar across his forehead during a Labor Day weekend church visit in Delaware.
The 82-year-old was captured on camera leaving a church in Rehoboth Beach with a noticeable red wound stretching across the front of his head, partially concealed by his white hair.
Political consultant Fred Karger filmed the concerning footage and shared it on social media platform X on Tuesday, drawing immediate attention to Biden’s appearance.
“I was a little surprised cause it’s a noticeable scar,” Karger told Inside Edition, which first reported the story on Thursday.
The activist and filmmaker observed that the wound appeared fresh and suggested it resembled the aftermath of skin cancer removal surgery.

“It looks fresh, a little hair combed over the scar. It looks to me like someone who had several basal cells, skin cancers removed from his head,” Karger explained to the outlet.
Biden’s spokesperson later confirmed that the former president had indeed undergone Mohs surgery, a specialized procedure designed to treat skin cancer.
The surgical technique involves removing thin layers of skin one at a time while preserving healthy surrounding tissue until all cancerous cells are eliminated.
Medical professionals consider Mohs surgery the gold standard for treating certain types of skin cancer due to its precision and effectiveness.
The New York Post reported that the timing of Biden’s surgery remained unclear, though observers noted he had appeared with a bandage in late August at a funeral service.
Biden was photographed with head bandaging while attending the funeral for former Delaware Governor and Representative Mike Castle at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church in Greenville.
This marked the second time Biden has required skin cancer treatment during his political career.
In February 2023, the then-sitting president had a cancerous skin lesion removed from his chest during a routine physical examination.
