Newly published photographs have intensified scrutiny surrounding Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) as the congressman continues to deny allegations made by his ex-wife amid an ongoing public and legal dispute.
The Daily Mail reported Tuesday that it obtained previously unpublished images that it says were taken during Miller’s relationship with his former wife, Emily Moreno.
One photograph appears to show a syringe inside a bedroom that, according to a source cited by the publication, was taken inside the home the couple previously shared.
The image surfaced after Miller released recordings of private conversations in an effort to rebut domestic abuse allegations made by Moreno.
In one of those recordings, Moreno accused Miller of having a drug problem and claimed she discovered needles next to his bed.
“First it was weed, then I found needles next to your bed,” Moreno said in the recording, according to the report. “I took a picture of it. You can try to deny it to me.”
She said the alleged discovery was “a huge impetus” for leaving the marriage.
Miller denied the accusation during the recorded exchange.
“It’s not a thing. And you didn’t find it next to a bed… It’s not mine. I can tell you 1,000 percent I’ve never had a needle in my bedroom drawer,” Miller said.
The Daily Mail noted that the photograph alone does not establish what the syringe contained, how it was used, who owned it or precisely where it was located.
In separate recordings released by Miller, the congressman acknowledged undergoing testosterone replacement therapy and said he had been open about that treatment with Moreno.
The publication also released another image appearing to show Miller holding a package of cannabis gummies labeled as containing 2,400 milligrams of THC across 16 gummies.
According to the report, each gummy contains 150 milligrams of THC, significantly exceeding California’s 10-milligram limit for individual recreational edible servings.
The article states there is no indication Miller consumed the gummies or that they belonged to him.
A third photograph published by the Daily Mail appears to show a business card for a Washington, D.C.-based cannabis delivery service alongside personal belongings that a source identified as belonging to Miller.
The images emerged just days before an Aug. 5 deadline for Miller to withdraw from his reelection campaign.
Miller has denied all allegations of domestic abuse and has not been charged with a crime.
The controversy has also drawn political attention.
Emily Moreno is the daughter of Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno (R), who recently called for his former son-in-law to resign from Congress.
In a statement posted on X, the senator said Miller “should not serve in the House of Representatives” and described him as a danger to his daughter.
Miller has vowed to remain in the race, telling supporters in a live video that he has no plans to withdraw and again denied abusing either his former wife or their daughter.
President Donald Trump, who previously endorsed Miller, was asked about the allegations this week.
Trump characterized the situation as “a very sad thing” and emphasized that the claims remain accusations.
“I know Max, he’s a good person, I always thought he was a very good person,” Trump said. “I’m going to let the families figure it out. It’s a very sad thing. It’s accusations. And I’m going to let them figure it out.”
