A new biography profiling X-Tesla-SpaceX owner Elon Musk is making waves for its criticism of former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.
Written by Walter Isaacson, the book “Elon Musk” notes that the entrepreneur met with Trump in December 2016, at which time Musk assessed that the new president was “kind of nuts.”
Though reportedly initially thinking Trump “may turn out okay,” he later concluded that “Trump’s presidency was not much different from his candidacy and that it was effectively a circus,” according to a report in The Daily Wire.
Isaacson reports that Musk told him “Trump might be one of the best bullsh***ers ever. If you just think of Trump as a sort of con-man performance, then his behavior sort of makes sense.”
The author noted that after Trump left office, Musk harbored a “deep disdain” for Trump and continued to view him as “a con man.”
Isaacson also recorded that Musk does not hold Biden in high esteem. Musk has repeatedly mocked Biden on X — recently noting that Mitch McConnell and Biden could “audition for role of Crypt Keeper – no makeup or special effects needed!”
Musk reportedly told Isaacson that he met with Biden when he served as vice president under President Obama:
“When he was vice president, I went to a lunch with him in San Francisco where he droned on for an hour and was boring as hell, like one of those dolls where you pull the string and it just says the same mindless phrases over and over,” wrote Isaacson.
The Daily Wire noted that Isaacson’s presentation of Musk’s reported assessment of the two apparent 2024 presidential candidates aligns with the sentiment of many Americans.
Recent polling shows that when describing Trump and Biden, 23% used terms such as “corrupt,” “con artist” or “dishonest” to describe Trump, and 41% associated Biden with terms such as “old,” “elderly” and “confused.”
Both Biden and Trump hold commanding leads with the party conventions less than a year away. However, both candidates are facing significant legal hurdles which could impact the race.
