Rep. Alma Adams, D-N.C., was also arrested.

KSTP Channel 5 reports that Omar was scheduled to participate in an “event at the United States Supreme Court Tuesday to protest the overturn of Roe v. Wade.”

The following representatives were reportedly to join in the protest:

Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif.

Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo.

At this time, it is not clear how many of the individuals noted above were arrested. However, the Capitol Police noted that 34 people, ”including 16 members of Congress, were arrested for blocking First Street Northeast,” according to KSTP-5.

Fox News reports police warned it is against the law to block traffic, adding “they issued three standard warnings before arresting some of the demonstrators who refused to get out of the street.”

“It is against the law to block traffic, so officers are going to give our standard three warnings before they start making arrests,” Capitol Police tweeted.

Minutes later, they announced that “[s]ome of the demonstrators are refusing to get out of the street, so we are starting to make arrests.”
