Country music star Zach Bryan addressed a recent situation at one of his concerts in which a fan was kicked out for allegedly attempting to grab Bryan’s guitar.
The situation was captured on video, presumably by another fan. Apparently driven wild by passion for the “Heading South” singer, the woman attempted to seize Bryan’s guitar, prompting a stern but mannerly rebuke from the singer after the incident.
In a remarkably polite statement about the out-of-control fan, Bryan urged fans to respect the boundaries of his personal musical instruments, warning that there would be consequences for anyone who crossed this line.
“I don’t mind people being respectful and trying to touch me or the guitar, but if you try to rip it out of my hands I promise I’ll rip you out of whatever venue we’re at, respectfully, of course,” Bryan tweeted.
“I give J-45’s out at a lot of concerts. The one in my hands when this happened was mine, my sweet ol’ gal, we’ve been everywhere together and written every song in the last few years together. Took it personal, but nothing against whoever wound up getting kicked out,” the country singer added.
The day after tweeting about the incident, Bryan revealed much bigger news, which has overshadowed the guitar incident: that he and his girlfriend Deb Peifer were parting ways.
Making sure to clarify that his decision to play breakup song “All the Time” at the previous night’s concert was unrelated to that situation, Bryan broke the news on Twitter.
“For transparency and with respect I am letting everyone know Debra and me went our separate ways about a week and a half ago,” Bryan said on Wednesday.
“Things are mutual between us, we’re leaving with plenty memories and good times. I beg so much that everyone respects her and my privacy through a hard time.”
