Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) shared a happy announcement on Mother’s Day: He and his wife Tara are expecting their first child, a girl.
Dan, who lost his mother to breast cancer when he was just 10, will name the coming baby girl Suzy, in honor of his mother Susan.
The congressman made the announcement on Instagram. His posted photo proudly profiled three generations of mothers in his family.
“Happy Mother’s Day! There are 3 generations of moms in that picture,” Crenshaw wrote. “Mother’s Day is always a bit difficult for me, since I lost my mom to cancer when I was 10. Susan Crenshaw was 40 years old when she lost her battle to breast cancer.”
Crenshaw added, “But this year is the first Mother’s Day that hits a little different, because we can celebrate @taracrenshawtx bringing another generation into this world. Little Suzy Crenshaw is coming soon!”
The Crenshaws married in 2013. A proud veteran, Crenshaw has been an outspoken pro-life advocate and fundraises for veteran suicide prevention programs.
Crenshaw joins Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) in announcing coming babies this year. Luna made her announcement last week.
