Ex-Biden Security Contractor Arrested Over Fatal Shooting in San Francisco

A former security contractor who claimed ties to federal protective teams has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in San Francisco, raising new questions about his background and alleged role in high-level security work.

Authorities say 25-year-old Nation Wood was taken into custody after a shooting in the city’s Sunset District left 22-year-old Samantha Emge dead.

Police responded to a residence around 10:43 p.m. and found Emge suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died.

Wood was arrested shortly after and booked on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter. He remains in custody as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Early indications suggest the shooting may not have been intentional. Local officials said initial findings point toward a possible accidental discharge, though no final determination has been made.

The case has drawn attention due to Wood’s claims about his professional background.

On LinkedIn, Wood described himself as a security contractor who worked alongside protective teams connected to former President Joe Biden beginning in 2023.

He listed his role as an “independent pre-event site security advisor,” claiming he conducted site walkthroughs and coordinated with federal security operations for events involving high-profile individuals.

However, the U.S. Secret Service has denied any formal connection.

A spokesperson said Wood was never employed by the agency, and authorities have not confirmed any official affiliation between him and federal protective services.

Despite that, social media posts show Wood posing with Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff during a 2024 event in San Francisco.

In one post, Wood referenced assisting with security planning tied to a trip connected to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

Investigators are now working to determine the extent, if any, of his involvement in legitimate security operations.

The victim, Samantha Emge, was a recent graduate of San Francisco State University and worked in interior design.

Social media posts and statements from friends indicate she and Wood were in a relationship.

Photos show the two together on multiple occasions, including trips and events following her graduation.

The shooting has left friends and family searching for answers as details remain limited.

Authorities have not publicly explained what led to the incident or what occurred inside the residence before the gun was fired.

The investigation remains active, with police continuing to gather evidence and review witness statements, per the Conservative Brief.

The case highlights a broader issue surrounding individuals who claim connections to federal security work without official verification.

While Wood presented himself as having experience alongside high-level protective teams, officials have made clear that those claims do not match agency records.

That discrepancy is likely to become a key focus as the investigation continues.

For now, the legal process will determine what actually happened inside the home and whether the shooting was accidental or the result of negligence.
