Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D) is in the hot seat again—this time for defending a liberal judge who actively interfered with federal immigration enforcement.
Conservatives are slamming Klobuchar for her sudden concern over “checks and balances,” pointing to her past statements declaring “no one is above the law.”
On Friday, the FBI arrested Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan for allegedly obstructing federal agents during an immigration arrest, as Resist the Mainstream previously reported.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the judge “intentionally misdirected federal agents away” from the illegal alien, Eduardo Flores Ruiz.
After the judge’s intervention, Ruiz fled the courthouse, prompting a chase before he was finally caught.
“The Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public,” Patel stated.
The federal government is not treating the case lightly, according to Trending Politics.
Dugan’s arrest follows a troubling trend among left-wing judges. Last year, Joel Cano, a judge in New Mexico, was forced to resign after housing a suspected gang member illegally.
During Trump’s first term, a Massachusetts judge faced federal charges for helping an illegal immigrant escape—charges that were conveniently dropped under the Biden administration.
Despite this pattern, Klobuchar rushed to the defense of Judge Dugan.
“This is not normal,” she posted on X. “The Administration’s arrest of a sitting judge… threatens the rule of law… and undermines our system of checks and balances.”
Her post raised eyebrows for its double standard. Journalist Stephen L. Miller quickly pointed out Klobuchar’s hypocrisy, sharing her 2022 tweet: “In the United States of America, no one is above the law.”
That statement was made when the FBI raided President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home—an action Klobuchar enthusiastically supported.
Prominent conservative attorney Harmeet Dhillon didn’t let the contradiction slide. Responding to Klobuchar, she wrote: “No one is above the law, Senator.”
Back in 2022, Klobuchar used nearly identical language in support of the Jan. 6 Committee.
“We owe every single member of the January 6 Committee a thank you,” she said. “No one is above the law, and the people who threaten our democracy must be held accountable.”
But apparently, that principle only applies when it’s her political opponents on trial—not activist judges protecting illegal immigrants.
Many conservatives see this as a classic example of left-wing double standards.
Democrats like Klobuchar will cry “rule of law” when it’s politically convenient, but abandon those same ideals when their allies are caught undermining law enforcement.
This latest incident comes amid President Trump’s ongoing crackdown on sanctuary jurisdictions.
Since February, the Executive Office for Immigration Review has removed over two dozen immigration judges.
Acting Director Sirce Owen defended the move, calling it a necessary cleanup of judicial activism.
