A campaign adviser for two former presidents predicted Donald Trump will easily win the GOP primary and regain the presidency.
“The phrase is not ‘likely,’ the phrase is dead-pipe certain,” declared Dick Morris during Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” that aired Sunday. “He’s certain to run, and he is, I believe, certain to get the Republican nomination.”
“I think he’ll actually get it by acclamation,” Morris added. “I don’t think there’ll be a primary fight.”
During the show, Morris explained the predictions he made in his book, “The Return: Trump’s Big 2024 Comeback,” which was released Tuesday.
The author of the newly released Trump book told host Katrina Szish the talk about Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., challenging Trump in the 2024 primary is just that — talk.
“First of all, only Trump can say, ‘I did it: You want to know if I can cut inflation or hold down gas prices, seal the border? I did it when I was president,'” Morris explained. “So he’s sort of a hybrid: he’s half-incumbent and half-challenger.”
“And secondly, he has an access to the Hispanic vote and to the white, high school-educated vote that other candidates really don’t have, and that gives him a tremendous capacity,” he added.
“So I think that only Trump can win,” remarked Morris, in explanation of why he believes DeSantis will not run against Trump.
The campaign manager side of him explained how he sees Trump winning back the presidency in 2024. He recommended a change in tactics regarding mail-in ballots and working to get Republicans elected to state positions overseeing elections. He added a pending Supreme Court case could boost chances, also, if the court returns the power to regulate elections for Congress and the presidency back to state legislatures as enumerated in the U.S. Constitution.
Morris contrasted voter turnout efforts between the two parties during the 2020 general election, which he said left the GOP very open to ballot fraud. He said the party was successful in increasing turnout, getting 11 million more votes than they did in 2016, but Democrats went for the low-hanging fruit.
“They went toward the door with ballot boxes and paper ballots, and every pizza delivery boy will tell you that home delivery beats ordering out, and we are going to do home delivery in ’24,” Morris declared. “We’re going to go door-to-door, person-to-person and bring the ballot to them, rather than asking them to go out and get the ballot.”
He added their drive to install Republican secretaries of state in 2022 midterms is important. He quoted the dead Russian dictator Joseph Stalin’s observation that it’s more important who counts the votes than who the votes are cast for.
