A dog named Storm snuck away from her home to attend an August 25 Metallica concert at SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California, according to a Friday report from Metal Hammer.
Metallica’s official X account announced Storm ran away from her home near the stadium and ended up in the audience for the first night, one of the rock band’s two scheduled appearances.
“You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA!” the band posted on X. “Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to @SoFiStadium and made her way to the gig all by herself.”
Storm was later seen comfortably seated, enjoying the music as Metallica performed live, without paying the hundreds of dollars per seat shelled out by others in the audience.
The band, acknowledging the canine fan, shared a picture on their social media on Thursday of Storm’s solo night out.
“Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day,” Metallica stated. “She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including ‘Barx Æterna,’ ‘Master of Puppies’ and ‘The Mailman That Never Comes.’”
Social media was abuzz with reactions to the photo.
One user remarked, “Music truly is the universal language,” while another commented, “Dog wanted to have a good time and knew exactly where to go!”
The concert attracted close to 80,000 fans, according to the report, and Storm was undoubtedly one of the most unique audience members.
Initially, the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation believed Storm had been left behind at the concert.
PetHelpful reported the heavy metal-loving canine was taken to a local animal shelter before the husky was later reunited with owner Arizbeth Hurtado.
Hurtado mentioned she had no inkling that her dog had escaped, let alone made her way into the concert, the report noted.
“She is apparently a huge Metallica fan who decided to sneak out for the concert!” Hurtado said, according to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle.
“We were laughing so hard when we saw she was SITTING IN AN ACTUAL SEAT AT THE CONCERT,” she added.
To allay concerns about Storm’s well-being, Hurtado later posted a picture with her pet, emphasizing her safety.
The post was met with a flurry of comments, with one user suggesting Metallica should send the puppy some swag and another declaring, “This dog is a legend!!”
