Former president Donald Trump has released a new video criticizing the economic policies of his successor, characterizing “Bidenomics” as bringing “inflation, taxation, submission, and failure.”
With a hint of nostalgia for his own tenure, Trump confidently highlighted his administration’s achievements, contrasting them with the current state of affairs.
“One of the most important issues in this campaign will be who can rescue our country from the burning records of Bidenomics, which shall henceforth be defined as inflation, taxation, submission, and failure,” Trump said in a video posted to Rumble on Wednesday.
Biden and his Democratic comrades have been marking the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act by championing their economic strategies termed “Bidenomics” throughout the nation. But while Democrats have been basking in the glow of the U.S. economy’s uptick in the second quarter, crediting it to manufacturing growth and the creation of clean energy jobs, Trump begs to differ.
“On day one, the Biden economic bust will be replaced with the historic Trump economic boom,” Trump said. “Any numbers you see that are economically positive in the Biden administration are because they’re running on the fumes of what we created years prior to their taking office.”
Trump then delved into the numbers, drawing comparisons between his administration’s economic performance and Biden’s. He pointed out that under his watch, gas prices, mortgage rates, and inflation were all more favorable.
“Under Biden, real incomes have gone down by $7,400 per family,” Trump said. “Under President Trump, yearly income went up by more than $6,000.”
Trump also took a moment to address job creation. He stated that while the Biden administration created 2.1 million new jobs in its first 30 months, his administration had outperformed with 4.9 million new jobs in the same timeframe.
Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Trump recently made an appearance at the Silver Elephant Gala at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. There, he reiterated his perspective on Bidenomics.
But Trump’s critiques aren’t limited to economic policies. He’s been actively campaigning against Biden for the 2024 election, all while navigating a maze of legal challenges. This includes pleading not guilty to charges accusing him of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results and facing indictment under Georgia’s RICO Act.
“We will end Biden economics and the disastrous Biden era — the most incompetent president we’ve ever had will soon be over,” Trump concluded. “We will do it quickly, we will do it effectively, and we will make America great again.”
