Many have noted that Fox News made a mistake in firing Tucker Carlson and that the top-rated host would have no trouble moving into a new position. On Tuesday, Tucker received an unsolicited $100 million offer from Patrick Bet-David, CEO of Valuetainment.
“We may not be the biggest … but if you want to team up with somebody that’s got the vision in place, the cause in place, and [is] a true believer on how great of a country America is that is worth fighting for … then we’re the right fit to partner with somebody like Tucker Carlson,” said Bet-David.
The entrepreneur added that he would give Carlson a platform where he could “speak freely and honestly to the American people.”
Valuetainment seems keen on adding Carlson’s millions of followers to its four million subscribers on YouTube and more than 10 million followers on its Instagram, TikTok and Twitter accounts.
Bet-David presented the offer during an interview with Megyn Kelly and followed up by posting the offer on several social media platforms.
The statement was an open letter and offer to the famed news host:
Dear Tucker, I’ll get right to the point. We want you to partner with us in what we feel is a noble and necessary effort to define the future of media,” the statement began.
Here’s our offer: $100M over 5 years. An equity stake in Valuetainment. President of Valuetainment and a board seat to project your strategic vision and voice. Your own podcast(s) and other daily/weekly shows. Documentaries and movies covering topics you care about.
What else? We are all ears. Our convictions about freedom, liberty, and truth run deep and we believe we are the absolute right fit for you and America.
While we may not be the biggest media company, we are a new media leader driving into the future to make truth, fair debate, and commentary more accessible, consumable, and protected.
Bet-David emphasized, “We are 100% serious about our offer.”
In talking with Megyn Kelly, Bet-David explained his thinking:
“I believe Tucker’s voice is one of the most necessary voices in America,” he said, adding that “the world needs to hear that voice.”
Carlson is reportedly exploring several offers at this time. The Western Journal noted that One America News might be offering $25 million over three years and that Glenn Beck offered him a position at Blaze Media. Also, the Heritage Foundation and Newsmax have reportedly extended offers.
Bet-David concluded his remarks with Megyn Kelly: “There are very few people left in America left at that level who have made the money that’s about a true cause — I think Tucker’s one of them.”
