Sam Brinton, the person President Joe Biden tapped to serve as a key administrator for a federal agency tasked with the disposition of nuclear material, is a troubled individual. Montgomery County, Maryland, police report arresting Brinton at his home on Wednesday.
The highly paid Brinton, 35, was charged in 2022 with stealing women’s suitcases from Minneapolis and Nevada airports, then modeling the stolen clothing on his social media channels.
RTM previously reported that Brinton identifies as “nonbinary,” appears in women’s makeup and is an activist for various LGBTQi+ causes. Brinton previously hinted at his mental challenges when he said:
“I’m in this constant state of fear. My dad has held a gun up to my head multiple times.”
Brinton also claimed he and his sister were physically abused by their parents when they ‘came out’ as gay. Brinton reported, “he was punched, sent to the emergency room at least seven times” and forced to see a “conversion therapist,” who “electrocuted and tortured” Brinton with “needles.”
Rachel Brinton, Sam’s sister, disputed his story and told the New York Post that her Southern Baptist missionary parents, Stephen and Peggy Jo, never exhibited any violence toward her, Sam or their younger brother Daniel.
“There’s no validity to those claims,” Rachel said. “First of all, the claims of conversion therapy never happened, nor did my parents abuse my brother or I.”
Libs of TikTok channel also noted the “warning signs.”
Sam Brinton is now held without bail at Montgomery County Jail, awaiting extradition to Virginia where he will face grand larceny charges. Police arrested Brinton as a “fugitive from justice.”
Brinton reportedly lives in Maryland with his husband Kevin. Neighbors reported to The Daily Wire that on Wednesday evening, “four unmarked police showed up last night [and that about an hour later] Sam Brinton was escorted out of the home in handcuffs.”
In April, Brinton pleaded “no contest” to misdemeanor charges of stealing luggage at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Prosecutors reduced the felony-level charges, and Brinton agreed to pay victims $3,500 in restitution.
The Biden official received a suspended 180-day jail sentence.
In September 2022, police charged Brinton with stealing a woman’s suitcase from the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. Security video reportedly shows Brinton removing a luggage tag from a navy blue Vera Bradley suitcase bag, putting that bag into his handbag and then exiting “the area at a quick pace.”
Those charges prompted his arrest this week.
