Medical professionals have questioned the autopsy conducted after Bob Saget’s January 9 death, noting major head trauma was involved.
“This is not a ‘slip & fall’. This is not a minor concussion,” opined Doctor Megan Ranney. “This is a MAJOR head trauma.” She added hopes that Saget’s family and friends get answers about what really happened to him. Her Twitter comments appeared above a copy of the autopsy results. Ranney is a practising emergency physician as well as the Dean for the School of Public Health at the Ivy League University, Brown.
Conspiracy theorists will probably not be demurred by her follow-up comment: “This doesn’t mean it was INTENTIONAL trauma, either.”
“But, this is more than ‘I just whacked my head on the kitchen cabinet’.”
Neurosurgeon Sanjay Gupta is probably best known as chief medical correspondent for the CNN network. Dr. Gupta discussed Saget’s autopsy results during a recent episode of the network’s show “New Day”, saying it was more than a simple bump on the head. He referred to a statement the family gave to People magazine that authorities determined he bumped his head, thought nothing of it and went to sleep.
“When you read this autopsy report, that may still be the case, but it was a very significant blow to the head,” Gupta said. He explained the skull fractures were serious enough to stretch from the back of his head around to his right temporal bone and noted additional fractures on the front of his skull. He pointed to areas above both eyes.
Gupta added that, if he had known nothing about the case and saw the autopsy, he would think the person had hit his head several times during a fall down a flight of stairs or maybe been in a car accident where he wasn’t wearing his seat belt.

The comedian and actor, know for his role on the long-running sitcom “Full House” and host of “Ameica’s Funniest Home Videos”, died in his room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, in Orlando, Florida. He had performed before an audience that evening and was expected to check out of the hotel the next day. Family members reportedly requested a welfare check after they didn’t hear from him, according to a report in the Daily Wire.
According to the report, Saget’s “left arm was across his chest while his right arm was resting on the bed. No signs of trauma were seen.” Saget was reportedly lying on the bed and “cold to the touch, yellow and clammy.”
“Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,” the Orange County Sheriff said in a statement. “The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced deceased on scene.”
“Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”
