Dr. Anthony Fauci, the FDA, the CDC and Biden administration officials are under fire after the U.S. Energy Department joined the FBI in asserting the COVID-19 virus was not naturally occurring but resulted from a laboratory leak from a Chinese lab in Wuhan.
Recent assessments from government agencies contradict multiple earlier reports from Biden administration officials.
During a Monday interview on “Fox & Friends First,” Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) criticized the Biden administration — particularly Dr. Fauci — for “repeated lies and misinformation.” Drew argued that administration officials suppressed information showing that American tax dollars funded research at a lab in Wuhan, China, the likely point of origin for the virus.
Drew, a former Democrat, claimed the administration’s mishandling of the pandemic negatively impacted American economic and education sectors — and resulted in a horrific loss of life.
The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s conclusion. The WSJ report cited a classified intelligence document reviewed by several members of Congress.
The U.S. Dept. of Energy’s report noted their assessment had a confidence level of “low,” while the FBI’s report on the same issue had a confidence level of “moderate.”
Demanding a full accounting of what happened and why, Rep. Drew said:
“We’re going to dig in the House of Representatives. The House really wants to know true answers. These are some of the things we talked about even during the campaign. It’s enough. People are tired. They want a government that tells them the truth. They want a government that works for them. We don’t work for the government. I hate to say it this way, but this is sick stuff.
[…] It’s been lie after lie, misinformation after misinformation. And it’s about time we crack this egg open and really find what’s actually going on. What’s most hurtful, not only did the Chinese, and we know the real truth, poison the world and the United States, I mean, let’s just tell the truth. Hopefully, it was an accident. But not only did they do this, but they lied about it. And we have an administration that doesn’t have the guts to go forward and get the truth out of them. And we paid for that part of it all. We paid for the damn lab.”
On Sunday, National security adviser Jake Sullivan sought to minimize the latest assertions, saying he could not “confirm or deny” the Wall Street Journal’s report or the U.S. Department of Energy’s conclusion that the COVID-19 pandemic likely originated from a lab leak in China.
Sullivan added that there was “no definitive answer.”
Many are now questioning the government’s assurances regarding the efficacy and safety of COVID-19 vaccines.
Last week, Idaho legislatures introduced a bill making it a misdemeanor to administer a COVID-19 vaccine. House Bill 154 reads:
