Master storyteller and wordsmith Mark Twain wrote, “Truth is stranger than fiction.” Twain’s axiom was again proved true 125 years later as The Daily Wire reports that notorious sex trafficker Jeffery Epstein’s partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, is now teaching “etiquette” classes to 40 women in prison.
The classes are reportedly taking place at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Florida, where Maxwell, 52, is serving a 20-year sentence.
The “etiquette” classes for inmates include “guidance on moral behavior” and “integrity,” according to The Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail reported that according to a flyer, the classes are “taught by Mrs. Maxwell [and touch on] … the three principles of etiquette … respect, consideration, and honesty.”
The Daily Mail quoted sources at the prison as saying Maxwell taught “good manners and how to conduct oneself in a business interview.”
The source added: Maxwell teaches about “women’s empowerment and the need to ‘maintain high moral standards.’”
The Daily Wire reported that an inmate from Colombia assists Maxwell with the classes, translating the presentation into Spanish as Maxwell teaches in English.
“It’s less about balancing books on heads and being ladylike, and more about having confidence in yourself – how to behave and talk in a professional manner, the secrets of success in the corporate world, that sort of thing,” a source told the Daily Mail.
The source added: “Miss Maxwell’s message is, so what if you’re a woman and a convicted felon, you’re not a second-class citizen. She’s an unlikely role model, but she’s very passionate about this.”
Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of multiple sex trafficking incidents and conspiracy to entice minors to travel in interstate commerce with intent to engage in “illegal sexual activity.”
During Maxwell’s trial, a woman testifying under the pseudonym “Jane” alleged that Epstein and Maxwell abused her when she was 14.
Social media is ablaze with negative comments regarding reports of Maxwell’s classes.
One Twitter user wrote: “Prefect way to reform, everyone. Teaching the criminals how to be polite about it.”
Another wrote this is “an absolute clown world.”
Another questioned whether or not the report could be true, writing, “This is the Onion. Right?”
