A Colorado congressman is bucking rising Republican rhetoric demanding an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden’s business dealings with his son Hunter.
Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) told former Biden press secretary Jan Psaki that he does not see evidence for impeaching the 46th president, according to a Trending Politics report.
Buck, a House Freedom Caucus member, has consistently defended the president against potential impeachment, saying, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is using impeachment proceedings as a “distraction.”
During his MSNBC interview, Psaki noted comments made by Rep. Marjorie Greene (R-GA) that she would withhold her vote to fund the government until an impeachment inquiry into President Biden was initiated.
Greene adjusted her stance as the September 30 deadline approached.
“Our country deserves for Congress to vote for an impeachment inquiry for very important reasons, not a rush impeachment vote,” Greene remarked in a recent social media post.
Buck dismissed Greene’s call for an impeachment inquiry, pointing out she had filed articles of impeachment against Biden shortly after he assumed office.
“The idea that that she is now the expert on impeachment or that she is someone who should set the timing on impeachment is absurd,” Buck told Psaki.
“The time for impeachment is the time when there’s evidence linking President Biden — if there’s evidence linking President Biden to a high crime or misdemeanor,” added Buck. “That doesn’t exist right now.”

Greene responded to Buck’s broadside by questioning his party allegiance.
“When is Ken Buck going to announce he’s a Democrat?” Greene asked. “The amount of shilling for Joe Biden is astounding. Almost like he’s hoping Joe is going to appoint him for something.”
The two representatives disagree about more than just impeachment.
Buck recently wrote a letter defending the Department of Justice treatment of January 6 defendants. He claims that J6 defendants were detained for extended periods without charges and denies they were mistreated in the D.C. jail.
The Colorado congressman did not address perceived disparity between DOJ treatment of J6 defendants and far-left extremists involved in the 2020 White House attacks and urban riots in many states that year.
