Emails from the Hunter Biden laptop archive have revealed that President Joe Biden, during his tenure as vice president, employed a pseudonym to schedule a meeting with then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
“Boss–8:45am prep for 9am phone call with Pres Poroshenko,” John Flynn wrote to Joe Biden, with Hunter Biden cc’ed on the email. The president’s son was making over $80,000 per month as a board member of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma at the time of the meeting.
“Then we’re off to Rhode Island for infrastructure event and then Wilmington for UDel commencement. Nate will have your draft remarks delivered later tonight or with your press clips in the morning,” Flynn added.
The New York Post reported in 2021 that Biden had used aliases such as Robin Ware and JRB Ware, in addition to the Robert L. Peters moniker. Emails from his son’s laptop further corroborate this.
“Prod [sic] of you, Love Dad,” Joe Biden emailed Hunter from the “Robin Ware” email account in November 2012. Another email from Joe Biden’s JRB Ware account received a document titled “Joe Biden_Photoshoot” in August 2017.
The House Oversight Committee has shown keen interest in these developments. They’ve requested the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to provide any unredacted records of Joe Biden’s communications about Ukraine and Burisma during his vice-presidential tenure, especially those under his pseudonyms.
After Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin had Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky’s property raided in February 2016, Biden called Poroshenko. Not long after, Shokin tendered his resignation, and Ukraine’s parliament voted him out the following month.
“You remember last year I was authorized to say we’d do the second tranche of a billion dollars,” Biden said. “And he didn’t fire his chief prosecutor. And because I have the confidence of the president, I was there, and I said: ‘I’m not signing it. Until you fire him, we’re not signing, man. Get it straight. We’re not doing it.'”
Hunter Biden’s former business associate Devon Archer has also been in the spotlight. He testified about Joe Biden’s interactions with his son’s business partners on over 20 occasions. Archer distinctly remembered Joe Biden attending dinners with Russian oligarch Elena Baturina and Burisma executive Vadim Pozharskyi.
Archer’s testimony to the House Oversight in July was particularly revealing. He mentioned that Shokin was perceived as a “threat” to Burisma’s business. Archer, who was on Burisma’s board alongside Hunter Biden, testified about a particular incident in December 2015. During a board meeting in Dubai, Hunter “called D.C.” due to pressure from Zlochevsky and Pozharskyi. However, Archer couldn’t confirm if Joe Biden was the one receiving that call.
Archer’s insights didn’t stop there. He testified that the Biden family “brand” essentially acted as a shield for Burisma, protecting the company from legal scrutiny. He also refuted claims that Joe Biden was unaware of his son’s business dealings, calling such assertions “categorically false.”
The House Oversight’s investigations have unearthed bank records indicating that the Biden family and its associates profited handsomely from foreign business dealings. These dealings spanned several countries, including Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania and Kazakhstan.
The president, however, has dismissed Archer’s testimony as “not true.” The White House has also maintained that Joe Biden was “not in business” with his son.
