Hunter Biden was longtime friends with a well-connected lawyer and lobbyist with deep roots in DC Republican politics — who praised him as a “rock star” and “beacon of hope.”

Martin Whitmer and Hunter Biden likely met at Georgetown, where they both graduated in 1992.

Whitmer is the founding partner of the lobbying and political consulting shop Whitmer & Worrall and served on former President Trump’s 2016 transition team. He has donated more than $54,000 over the years almost exclusively to GOP candidates and causes.

Emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned hard drive frequently show a fawning and obsequious Whitmer.

“You are too kind to me and I greatly appreciate it,” he wrote in a June 2011 email after Hunter Biden introduced him to Evan Ryan — the wife of Secretary of State Antony Blinken who serves as President Biden’s White House cabinet secretary.

There were many emails with offers for golf and duck hunting.

“Hey Hunter! Want to try and shoot some geese on Thursday or Friday,” he said in a January 2015 email. “We can make it a day trip or we can overnight at the farm house. It would be great to just get out there with you and see if we can pop a few birds.”

When Hunter told Whitmer he could not attend a lunch with Henry Kissinger in October 2011 because he would be away in Hong Kong, Whitmer lathered it on thick, calling him “a beacon of hope” and an “instrument of peace and diplomacy.”

“We were friends,” Whitmer told The Post, declining to comment further.
