Hunter Biden has been indicted on three counts of illegally possessing a firearm, falsifying gun sale paperwork and owning a firearm while addicted to drugs.
The indictment comes from special counsel David Weiss, who seemingly resisted bringing charges against the president’s son and initially attempted to arrange for a no-charge no-jail time plea deal.
That plea deal arrangement was rejected by a federal judge in July.
The three-count indictment, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, follows scrutiny of President Biden’s Dept. of Justice’s decision to elevate Weiss to a special counsel role after his plea deal recommendation collapsed.

The inquiry will formally investigate the family’s overseas business dealings, which involve President Biden’s son Hunter and brother James.
