Multiple legacy media outlets and talk shows such as “The View” have stated there is no evidence that President Biden was involved in criminal activity.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a recent press conference: “Republicans have spent all year investigating the President and have turned up no evidence — none.”
Trending Politics reported that in response to cries of foul play on the part of Republicans, during the Wednesday evening interview with Sean Hannity, Jim Jordan, the House Judiciary Committee Chair, outlined four key pieces of evidence that justify moving forward with impeachment proceedings.
According to Jordan, the first point of evidence that warranted investigation centers on Hunter Biden’s role in Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.
Jordan noted that Hunter was not qualified to sit on the Burisma board, having had no experience in energy expertise. He held the lucrative position so that nefarious government charters would receive preferential access to U.S. officials.
Another factor Jordan asserted as evidence for impeachment was that when Burisma was being investigated for wrongdoing by Ukrainian officials, its administrators asked Hunter to “relieve the pressure that’s coming from the prosecutor,” Viktor Shokin.
Shokin recently came forward to claim that then-Vice President Biden pressured the country’s government to fire Shokin — something that he then bragged about during an interview.
VP Biden traveled to Ukraine and threatened officials that if Shokin was not fired within hours, the United States would withhold more than $1 billion in economic aid that had previously been approved but not yet allocated.
Jordan’s third point involved the anonymous testimony to the FBI alleging that Joe and Hunter Biden received “millions of dollars in bribes” in exchange for exercising their influence in Ukraine. Bank records, previously blocked by a Nancy Pelosi’s Democrat-controlled House, appear to support Jordan’s statement.
Jordan argued, fourthly, that the Dept. of Justice (DOJ), specifically Attorney General Merrick Garland and Special Prosecutor David Weiss, prevented investigations that could lead to implicating the Bidens in criminal activity.
“The unorthodox way they handled this, to be kind, and the deal they put together that the judge declined to accept,” shows bias in the investigation, Jordan alleged.
Jordan summarized his position: “So all that pattern is why Speaker McCarthy said this warrants moving to an impeachment inquiry phase of our constitutional duty to do oversight, and that’s what we’ve done and we’re going to continue to push to get the facts and the truth out there.”
On Monday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced the House would begin impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has scolded reporters in recent days who asked for clarification or comment on the matter.
