John Kerry, the primary leader behind the Biden administration’s climate agenda, sparked outrage on social media this weekend after a video of him scolding people for threatening humanity by not curbing its effect on the climate was posted.
The clip stemmed from Kerry’s speech at an event in Scotland and was viewed over one million times since being posted on Friday. X users ripped into Kerry, calling him a “con-artist” and “tyrant” for his strong rebuke of those who aren’t on board with the climate agenda.
During the speech, Kerry referred to climate-change deniers as “cult” members, who “lash out at the truth tellers” and refuse to accept “indisputable evidence” of manmade climate change. He claimed that humanity has “threatened itself.”
Kerry began by shaming those who question climate change, saying, “Without facts or economics on their side, they flatly deny what is happening to our planet and what we must do to save it.”
“They incite a movement against what they falsely label ‘climate change fanaticism,’ as they conveniently forget that the dictionary definition of a cult is the dismissal of facts in devotion to a lie,” he continued, adding a claim that deniers attack those who are just trying to tell the truth about the threat.
“And while they refuse to accept the facts behind increasingly obvious damages, which the First Minister listed, they lash out at the truth-tellers instead, and label indisputable evidence as hysteria,” he claimed.
Kerry then accused deniers of revving up the climate change that will destroy all of humanity, angrily slamming his hand on the podium.
He said, “They compound the already difficult challenge of the climate crisis, by promising to do more of exactly what created this crisis in the first place. So now, humanity is inexorably threatened by humanity itself, by those seducing people into buying into a completely fictitious, alternative reality, where we don’t need to act and we don’t even need to care.”
Many prominent conservative voices on X found the speech dark and heavy-handed.
The Federalist co-founder and CEO Sean Davis responded to the clip, saying, “It’s not often that the tyrants tell you so clearly your mere existence is a threat to them.”
Author Neil Oliver amended Kerry’s words, posting, “Inexorably threatened by an obscenely wealthy and power-obsessed handful of humanity, yes.”
Conservative influencer Oilfield Rando commented on the clip, saying, “We have to eliminate human beings to save human beings. Like I always say, the eugenics movement never ended. It rebranded.”
