Rittenhouse is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and reckless endangering.

Judge Bruce Schroeder dropped the sixth charge lodged against Rittenhouse, which has to do with possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under the age of 18.

This charge is a misdemeanor and was dropped because of an exception in Wisconsin State statute. This exception is regarding a short-barreled rifle or shotgun. Prosecutors on Monday conceded that the firearm Rittenhouse had with him the night of the shooting was not short-barreled, and therefore the judge dropped the charge.

Meanwhile, Rittenhouse’s attorneys have filed an official motion for mistrial.
