Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, who is challenging November election results, is seeking financial support from the Republican National Committee (RNC). Lake claims the support is needed to cover legal expenses related to the multiple lawsuits filed to challenge the integrity of Arizona’s midterm election.
During a Jan. 27 interview with Steve Bannon, Lake noted that the Republican National Committee had “raised a couple hundred million for election integrity.” The firebrand would-be governor is now formally asking the RNC to help cover the expenses her legal team incurred fighting for election integrity since mid-November.
Noting that the RNC has not committed financial support yet, Lake said: “We haven’t had them do that yet. They’ve said they would help a little bit. We are hoping that they actually do that.”
During the interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room,” which also featured MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, Lake said, “The people are interested in election integrity; they know that our country is gone. It’s over, it’s caput if we don’t have honest elections.”
The Epoch Times noted the RNC has yet to respond to a request for comment.
Lake attended a Save America rally last weekend and commented on Ronna McDaniel’s hard-fought win to serve another term as Republican Party chairperson. She received 111 out of 164 votes.
Amid calls for McDaniel to step down due to claims of underperforming candidates in November’s midterms, Lake and Trump praised McDaniel and commended her for the win. Lake told reporters:
“I really believe that [McDaniel] heard the call of the grassroots. And she knows how important it is to not only support the grassroots, respect the grassroots, but bring them along. And I hope that we see some changes in the RNC so that we can grow it.”
Lake’s attempt to find a resolution to her case has been met with challenges. A lower court ruled against her and ordered her to pay $33,040 to Hobbs for witness fees.
On Jan. 25, however, the Supreme Court ruled that “as indicated by the Court of Appeals’ order setting an accelerated briefing schedule, the Court has no reason to doubt that the Court of Appeals appreciates Petitioner’s (Lake’s) desire for an expedited resolution.”
The high court will hear Lake’s challenge on Feb. 1.
Lake’s attorneys argue that widespread tabulation issues in Maricopa County — confirmed by Maricopa County officials Bill Gates and Stephen Richer — significantly impacted her chances of winning.
State election data notes that Kari lost to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs by a mere 17,000 votes.
Lake vowed: “We’re going to move it all the way to the Supreme Court. It’s going there anyways; we’d love to see it just go there rather than have to go to the appellate court. Whatever happens, either side will move it up to the Supreme Court.”
Lake’s War Room Twitter account noted that more evidence would be produced soon, including records that “revealed nearly a quarter of a million ballots were rejected on Election Day in Maricopa County.”
Lawyers for Hobbs filed a petition seeking to dismiss Lake’s challenge. Hobbs’ legal team wrote:
“Despite seven witnesses, hundreds of declarants, and thousands of pages of exhibits, Lake failed to demonstrate any violations of Arizona law and offered no evidence that absent alleged violations, the outcome of the election would have been different.”
Hobbs’ petition was denied.
