Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert took Democrat California Rep. Eric Swalwell to the woodshed after he attempted to pin the Highland Park parade massacre on MAGA Republicans.
He also showed a photo of the shooter, Robert Crimo III, next to a photo of Rep. Boebert holding a rifle.
“Don’t let the @GOP or right-wing media fool you. Gun violence affects everyone regardless of where you live. Highland Park sits about 30 min north of Chicago and is 90% White. The Highland Park shooting didn’t happen because of ‘Chicago’s crime,’” he said.
“The #HighlandPark shooting happened—like all the other 314 mass shootings so far this year —because the @GOP’s gun policies choose killers over our kids,” the representative said.
“Robert E. Crimo III was a 22 yr old Trump supporter who was able to legally purchase deadly military-style weapons without background checks because that is what Pro-Killer Republicans in Congress have allowed him to do,” he said.
And then he took aim, at Rep. Boebert.
“Let’s start drawing straight lines,” he said in the caption of the photo of Boebert and Crimo.
“Yes, let’s. How’s Fang Fang these days?” Boebert said as she shared a photo drawing a line from him to Chinese Communist Party spy Fang Fang who Swalwell had some type of relationship with, to Chinese dictator Xi Jinping.
Swalwell did not respond to that tweet, but he did respond to another.
“Trying to link responsible gun ownership with murder makes less sense than @ericswalwell’s Presidential Campaign,” she said.
“Thank you for remembering I ran. That puts you in rare company. *It doesn’t excuse you for your pro-killer policies,” he said.
But Boebert ended the debate with one final tweet.
[email protected], give it up creep. Did Fang Fang block you on WeChat? You can’t date me, she said.
