Karoline Leavitt Reveals New Role After Leaving Trump White House

Outgoing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has revealed where she is headed next, confirming she will remain closely involved in President Donald Trump’s political operation after leaving the administration at the end of August.

Leavitt, 28, told reporters Friday that she plans to return to MAGA Inc., the pro-Trump super PAC where she previously worked before becoming a prominent figure in Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and later joining his second administration.

The move will keep Leavitt firmly inside Trump’s political orbit as Republicans prepare for the November midterm elections.

Leavitt did not announce her specific title at MAGA Inc., but made clear that her departure from the White House would not mark her exit from national politics.

“You guys will still see me all the time,” Leavitt told reporters outside Air Force One.

Her comments came ahead of Trump’s rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which marked Leavitt’s final official trip as White House press secretary.

Leavitt also said she plans to attend a Republican convention in Dallas, Texas, in September and participate in campaign efforts ahead of the midterms.

Her return to MAGA Inc. represents a familiar role for Leavitt, who served as a spokeswoman for the organization before becoming national press secretary for Trump’s successful 2024 presidential campaign.

She has held several other political and communications positions throughout her career.

Leavitt served as an assistant White House press secretary during Trump’s first administration and later became communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY). She also ran for Congress in 2022 as the Republican nominee in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.

Trump announced Leavitt’s upcoming departure Aug. 12, saying she wanted to spend more time with her family while confirming that she would continue advising him from outside the White House.

“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump wrote.

The president said Leavitt would become one of his “top outside advisors” and remain an influential Republican voice as the party attempts to maintain its political momentum in the midterm elections.

Trump also praised Leavitt’s years working alongside him, dating her involvement with his political operation back to 2018, per Trending Politics.

“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024,” Trump wrote.

He added that Leavitt had been “one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office.”

Leavitt became the youngest person in US history to serve as White House press secretary when she took the position at the beginning of Trump’s second term.

Although she will soon leave the White House briefing room, her newly confirmed return to MAGA Inc. means she will remain involved in Trump’s political operation as Republicans head into the final months before the 2026 midterms.
