Politico investigative reporter Heidi Przybyla Sunday claimed there is no evidence connecting President Joe Biden to his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
Her remark was made during a panel discussion of the ABC News program “This Week” about the 2024 election and former President Donald Trump’s legal battles.
“Another potential advantage which is, guess what the news might be when we come back or Congress comes back?” Przybyla said. “They’re going to try to impeach Joe Biden based on charges that don’t exist and evidence that doesn’t exist, and they think that would just go down.”
Her assertion seems to ignore findings by congressional investigators and details from Hunter Biden’s laptop archive.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said August 27 that an impeachment inquiry is the “natural step forward.”
McCarthy earlier warned of impeachment if the Department of Justice uses Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ special counsel status to hinder congressional investigators, according to a report from The Daily Caller.
In anticipation of an impeachment inquiry, reports claim the White House established a war room with around two dozen staff to handle a potential Impeachment.
House Oversight Committee investigations discovered bank records indicating the Biden family and its associates garnered over $20 million from business associates in Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania and Kazakhstan.
Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business associate, testified to the House Oversight Committee in July, stating that Joe Biden had joined at least 20 phone converstations with his son’s business partners.
Archer specifically remembered a spring 2014 dinner with Russian oligarch Elena Baturina, ex-wife of a former mayor of Moscow, and Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev.
He also spoke about a spring 2015 dinner with Vadim Pozharskyi, an executive from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, which paid Hunter Biden more than $80,000 per month for his board membership.
House Oversight members heard that Burisma was shielded from legal examination due to the Biden family “brand,” which Archer directly associated with Joe Biden.
He also mentioned that Joe Biden had met one of his son’s Chinese business associates in Beijing. Following this, Joe Biden reportedly wrote a recommendation letter for the business associate’s daughter’s college applications.
After his testimony, Archer told Tucker Carlson during an interview that it was “categorically false” to assert that Joe Biden was unaware of his son’s business activities.
House Ways and Means, Oversight, and Judiciary Committees are probing allegations from IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler about the DOJ’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes and gun possession.
Hunter Biden’s former business associate James Gilliar referred to Joe Biden as “the big guy” in a May 2017 email discussing a potential business deal.
He wrote, “10 held by H for the big guy?” These emails were initially reported by the New York Post.
Another former business associate of Hunter Biden, Tony Bobulinski, verified to the same outlet that the “big guy” moniker was in reference to Joe Biden.
The White House has consistently maintained that the president was “not in business” with his son.
