Liberals posted vicious posts about actor Woody Harrelson on X after his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, posted a photo of them that included him wearing a light blue ball cap with “Kennedy 2024” embossed on it.
“We lost Woody,” mourned “Shark Tank” producer Andrew Kimmel in a post to X viewed more than 12 million times by Friday morning. He included the photo of Hines and Harrelson, creating controversy.
Kimmel’s mourning was not the death of the actor who starred in “Cheers” and movies like “White Men Can’t Jump” but his endorsement of presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Kennedy has become a poster boy for people disillusioned about COVID-19 vaccinations of children and mask mandates. Others are upset by his primary challenge of President Joe Biden’s bid for reelection in 2024.
Another X account blasted the actor after the photo surfaced.
“It’s official,” declared a post from the X account @LisaLiberal. “After his shitty SNL opening monologue about Covid, now this. Woody Harrelson is dead to me.”

Verified X user Angela Belcamino remarked, “Woody Harrelson just canceled himself.”
Kennedy has been criticized for his views on vaccines and COVID-19, according to a USA Today report. He is accused of spreading conspiracy theories about specific ethnic groups being targeted by the virus.
Furthermore, he has publicly criticized pandemic lockdowns and made controversial comparisons, which he later apologized for.
Reaction to the controversial comments from Kennedy became vitriol after he announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party’s 2024 nomination for the presidency.
Many liberals were angry with him for forcing a primary challenge to the incumbent Joe Biden, which will require him to campaign and spend money before the general election campaign.
Some Democratic voters worry his presidential bid may weaken Biden before what promises to be another tight contest against former President Donald Trump.
Of course, not all reaction against Harrelson’s cap supporting Kennedy was negative. Some social media users expressed support.
“Whatever,” said one X user, “I can’t stay mad @ Woody.”
The X account @letsrunthsjoint gave him a, “That a boy!”
User ScandiScott laughingly remarked that Harrelson cannot be canceled.
“He’s too badass and you know it,” he tweeted. “So is kennedy.”
