In a Twilight Zone-type moment, ITV News captured an unexpected voice during a live broadcast of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral motorcade.
In helicopter video footage of the motorcade and hearse traveling through West London on Monday, a whispered female voice seems to interrupt the newscaster’s commentary.
Some have been quick to liken the voice to that of a ghost — others contend it is the voice of the late Princess Diana. The more grounded suggest the voice is likely a reporter or an unknown person caught on a hot microphone.
As the newscaster spoke of the death of Queen Elizabeth II while video showed her hearse and motorcade moving through the streets of London, the broadcast seemed to be interrupted by a female voice saying: “The death is irreversible, and the fact that she’s travelling …”

Many viewers were quick to attribute the mysterious remark to Princess Diana. A Brit named Max Aghaeipour asked, “Diana, is that you?”
Diana was the first wife of the new King of England Charles III. She was greatly loved and respected by people across the globe for her humanitarian work and kind spirit. She divorced then Prince Charles in 1996 and died in an automobile accident while being chased by paparazzi in Paris in 1997.
The now viral ITV News voice capture has unsettled many in the United Kingdom:

However, some suggest a less frightening and more obvious explanation. A man named Micky tweeted:
“Makes me laugh when people desperately want it to be a supernatural event instead of looking at the obvious. It’s someone whispering in the studio with a mic left on or near to another mic. Get a grip people! Ghosts don’t exist and if they did they wouldn’t be whispering on ITV.”
Daniel Payne suggested the voice was that of a grief counselor, tweeting: “…it was [a] grief counselor who went on to say death is irreversible after when they went back onto air.”
The Western Journal noted that in many ways “the legacy of the Princess of Wales lives on — including in the imaginations of some of the royal family’s followers.”
