The radio traffic in the moments after Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin collapsed Monday night has been released and shows the dramatic efforts that were undertaken to save his life.
Hamlin, 24, suddenly collapsed in the middle of the football game due to cardiac arrest. Around 8:55 p.m., one person on the radio channel is heard saying “go ahead and go over to the cot. I don’t like how he went down.”
“We’re going to need everybody. All call. All call,” a second person said. “We need everybody.”
“Call, bring everybody. We need an airway doctor, everybody,” the first person was heard saying. “Bring the cot with the medics.”
At 9:20 p.m., a third person call for a carbon dioxide monitor.
“You got that little monitor on there? I need an end-tidal CO2.”
“We do have the other monitor with us,” a fourth person said. “We’re checking all our equipment. I’m going to send you a text with things that we need.”
“I need an end-tidal CO2 now! Per the doc,” the third person said. “They’re still waiting on the patient.”
