SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly, who has had a tumultuous relationship with former President Donald Trump, announced she will interview the leading GOP candidate on Sept. 14.
The interview will air on “The Megyn Kelly Show.” Notably, Kelly has not interviewed Trump since 2016.
According to the Daily Caller, though Kelly is a conservative, her relationship with Trump soured after she pointedly asked him about his ”past treatment of women during a 2015 debate.”
Kelly was moderating the debate with Fox News’ Bret Baier and former “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace, and Trump had just been accused of speaking about women in coarse, unflattering terms.
Kelly has recently interviewed several Republican presidential candidates, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and Democratic candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The SiriusXM host commended Trump when announcing the upcoming interview on X, thanking him for agreeing to the interview knowing that she is not a notable Trump supporter.
In her video post, Kelly said: “Next week, I’ll be interviewing former President Donald Trump. It will be my first interview with the former president in seven years and there’s so much to get to. I’m really looking forward to this.”
Kelly added: “It’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be spicy and it’s gonna be tough, but it’s gonna be good and hopefully, we’re both gonna enjoy it. I think you’re all gonna enjoy it too. We’re gonna have a lot of time for a variety of topics in person, sitting down with him in person.”
