Megyn Kelly, the outspoken former Fox News correspondent, shared her opinion on Fox News Media’s dismissal of popular news host Tucker Carlson during Monday’s episode of her Sirius XM “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Mincing no words, Kelly called it a “terrible move.”
“This is a terrible move by Fox, and it’s a great thing for Tucker Carlson,” Kelly said. “I don’t know what drove Fox News to make this decision, and it was clearly Fox News’ decision because they are not letting him say goodbye. That’s my supposition.”
Her views were shared by many on Twitter.

Kelly added that Carlson’s separation from Fox “was not part of the network’s recent $800 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems,” according to The Daily Wire.
Kelly expressed dissatisfaction with how Fox News handled the matter — noting that Tucker Carlson’s final show was last Friday and “there would be no goodbye episode.”
Regarding whispers that Fox News Media’s recent $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems triggered the dismissal, Kelly shifted the blame off Carlson and placed it on the network’s coverage of election night results.
“They called Arizona too soon … [and] they were under pressure by their audience to reverse the call,” said Kelly. “The audience started to leave them in droves because they felt betrayed because they didn’t understand the mission of Fox News, which is to be fair.”
Kelly added: “And they [Fox] went into a panic as the audience started to flee. Then they overcorrected. By covering the bulls*** claims about Dominion as though they were plausible and gave way too much credence to some of those claims on the air.”
According to Kelly, Carlson was likely targeted for dismissal because he was “one of the few” that disputed the claims.
“He was not the reason for that settlement,” Kelly argued. “They [got] rid of Tucker,” exclaimed the host. “Talk about misjudging your audiences yet again, said Kelly. “I think this is a massive error.”
In a word of encouragement to Carlson, Kelly said: “I firmly believe Tucker will be better off. I think these cable networks are dinosaurs … getting out under the thumb of the big corporate management is a blessing. It is a blessing, and I know that he’s smart enough to know that.”
