Nejourde Meacham, a 22-year-old charged with nonviolent offenses related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot died Monday, according to his obituary.

The obituary did not disclose Meacham’s cause of death but an X post by podcast host Julie Kelly cited a source who claimed he committed suicide.

“I have just been told by a very reliable source that he killed himself,” Kelly said about Meacham. “I am shaking — 4th known suicide tied to January 6. Evil isn’t the word.”

In a Criminal Complaint filed July 14 by the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.’s District Court, Meacham was accused of four minor offenses during the J6 event.

DOJ prosecutors allege Meacham traveled to Washington, D.C., with his uncle Odin. Both were present at the “Stop the Steal” rally held at the Washington Monument before making their way to the U.S. Capitol.

While Odin was arrested in May of this year on charges that included violent felonies, such as assaulting police officers with a wooden pole, Nejourde Meacham’s involvement was markedly different.

Meacham was not implicated in any violent actions. The federal complaint against him showcased several photographs of him both outside and inside the Capitol where he was seen holding a “Trump 2020” flag.

An FBI agent claimed in court documents that Meacham entered the U.S. Capitol, approached a damaged southern window and raised his TRUMP 2020 flag.

He was subsequently escorted out by law enforcement without any record of violent or destructive behavior on his part.

Other individuals associated with J6 have also committed suicide. This includes Matt Perna from Pennsylvania, 37, who was another nonviolent participant and had entered a guilty plea.

His family claims his death was the result of a “broken heart,” according to a report from The Hill.
