A man was on the run after allegedly committing a lewd act on a female customer at a local Dollar Tree store. The shocking incident sent ripples through Philadelphia.
The disturbing event, captured on video, has sparked a community-wide manhunt with even a prominent rapper joining the search efforts.
Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg detailed the event on X, writing, “Philadelphia police are searching for a man after he ‘relieved himself’ on a woman’s leg in a Dollar Tree store.”
“The man can be seen running from the store before the woman shows what he did to her leg.”
Rugg continued by noting that the woman can be heard saying “he n*tted on my leg” in the now viral clip.
The male suspect, who has since surrendered himself to police per Fox 29, reportedly engaged in indecent behavior inside a Dollar Tree on June 23, leaving his victim traumatized.
Security footage shows Gary Miles, 35, sprinting from the store and through a parking lot, while the distressed victim can be heard shouting after him.
Philadelphia police confirmed they were actively searching for the suspect, who is wanted for “indecent assault on a female victim.”
Fox 29 reported that Miles of Southwest Philly “voluntarily surrendered” himself to police Wednesday evening.
Amidst the manhunt, authorities described the man as a black male between 25 and 30 years old, standing approximately six feet tall with a receding hairline and full beard.
He was wearing a black t-shirt with an inappropriate message, gray shorts and black sneakers at the time of the incident.
Law enforcement officials believed the suspect was a regular in the area, known to frequent the shopping plaza and the nearby I-95 underpass where he occasionally parks his vehicle.
This information intensified the search efforts, with local residents on high alert.
Philadelphia-born rapper Meek Mill threw his support behind the search in an unexpected turn of events.
The rapper offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s apprehension.
Mill took to social media to rally his followers, calling for a “manhunt” and describing it as “community service.”
“Let’s play manhunt with him today in Philly,” Mill posted, later clarifying his intentions by urging followers to “just go live with him, don’t pursue him.”
“Philly small people know where this creep a** dude at.”
Daily Mail noted that the rapper’s involvement significantly amplified the case’s visibility, increasing the chances of the suspect’s capture.
Mill emphasized the need for “community protection,” suggesting that local residents might have crucial information about the suspect’s whereabouts.
Fox 29 reported on a statement from police following Miles turning himself in. “The PPD extends its gratitude to the public for their assistance in locating Mr. Miles,” it read.
