Adam Harrison, the son of Rick Harrison, star on the popular show, “Pawn Stars” died on Jan 20. He was 39.
On Monday, Rick Harrison revealed his son died from a fentanyl overdose.
Harrison shared the update in a statement to the New York Post. “Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” Harrison, 58, stated on Monday.
Harrison added: “The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better.”
Harrison’s rep added that Adam died in Las Vegas and the family learned of his death last Friday.
Harrison shared of Adam’s death on Instagram. “You will always be in my heart!” Harrison wrote alongside a photo that showed him smiling next to his lookalike son in a bar. “I love you Adam.”
Adam’s brother, Corey Harrison, also paid a tribute to Adam, posting on Instagram an old photo of the two toddlers in a bath.
“Wax wtf I will always love you bubba,” he captioned the throwback photo.
TMZ shared that the show “Pawn Stars” has been a hit since its launch in 2009, noting that part of the charm of the show was the “multi-generational Harrison staff.”
The Vegas Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is known for authenticating, procuring, and selling unusual items.
TMZ noted that Adam was an important part of the Harrison business and family.
