Illustrating that we are living in an age of entitlements and demanded accommodations, “plus-size influencer” Jaelynn Chaney posted her second demand video in as many months.
Chaney caught the attention of many when she recently demanded airlines accommodate plus-size travelers by providing a free extra seat.
In a follow-up post, Chaney shared 10 changes hotel industry leaders should make to better accommodate plus-size guests.
“We deserve an environment that respects our needs and body diversity,” Chaney said in a recent TikTok video that was reposted to X.
In her post, Chaney demanded hotels provide special lobby, restroom, elevator, bed, pool, shower, restaurant, bathrobe, towel, chair and hallway accommodations for plus-size guests. In addition, Chaney recommends hotel staff receive sensitivity training to appropriately interact with plus-size guests.
“Hotels should provide size-inclusive bathrooms,” Chaney said in the video. “These should go up to size 6X and beyond.”
The New York Post reported that Chaney stated she was “on a mission to revolutionize the travel industry and make it a more accessible, accepting, accommodating place for all.” She added: “The needs of plus-sized travelers matter just as much as anybody else.”
Chaney stated that leaders in the travel industry should understand the importance of “creating a space where every guest feels valued and comfortable.”
The plus-size influencer argued that “Size-inclusive hotel amenities are more than just accommodations — they’re a statement of respect for diverse needs and body types.”
Many TikTok and X users pushed back on Chaney’s demands.
“How are you gonna ask for things to change, but refuse to change yourself?” asked one TikTok user.
Another called her “entitled” for making demands while another declared, “It [would] be cheaper to diet.”
Despite the negative feedback, Chaney seems intent on pushing forward, calling herself a “Plus Size Travel, Fashion & Lifestyle” advocate and influencer. Notably, she has more than 134,000 followers on TikTok.
