According to the Daily Mail, Prince Andrew is “totally tormented” as he prepares himself for the scandal around his connections to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to reignite in the new year, after a judge ruled that the names of 170 Epstein connections would be released.
On Sunday, the Daily Mail learned that Andrew would be one of the names released in the grouping of court documents. Scores of Epstein’s friends, associates and victims, some of whom have not been previously identified publicly, will be released in early 2024.
Andrew is reportedly in a deep despair ahead of Christmas, as he faces the prospect of facing intense scrutiny over his connection to Epstein once again.
“Andrew’s name is in there,” a source said. “He is beside himself with this latest development and everyone close to him is concerned for his mental wellbeing. He is at a loss, totally tormented. He is facing his second Christmas without his mother and now the New Year is going to start with his name being dragged through the mud all over again.”
Last week, Judge Loretta Preska ruled that documents relating to more than 170 people who were either associates, friends or victims of Epstein would be made public in early January.
The documents are part of a 2015 defamation case by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, brought against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime romantic interest who was a major part of supplying Epstein with underage girls.
While the case was settled out of court two years later, The Miami Herald fought to get the papers made public. The first trove of documents were released in 2019, less than 48 hours before Epstein died in a New York jail cell, where he was being held on child s*x trafficking charges, in a death that has long faced scrutiny.
Other names set to be made public in the new documents allegedly include Wall Street bankers, business leaders and big-name politicians and academics.
Giuffre claims that she was forced to have s*x with Andrew when she was 17, which Andrew has denied consistently. A civil lawsuit she brought was settled out of court with no admission of wrongdoing by Andrew.
“Every time Andrew hopes to put his association with Epstein in the past, it flares up again,” a source said. “It doesn’t matter that he has never been charged, let alone convicted, of any wrongdoing, his name keeps getting dragged through the mud by association. This is going to hang over him all Christmas. You have to wonder when it will ever end.”
