Project Veritas Executive Director Daniel Strack has reportedly resigned from his position at the organization in the midst of an ongoing lawsuit by the organization against its founder James O’Keefe, who was ousted from the company last January.
During O’Keefe’s appearance on Tim Pool’s “Timcast,” the latter reported that Strack had left the right-wing journalistic group, basing his claims on reporting.
While neither Project Veritas nor O’Keefe could independently verify the claims, Pool said that it “seems plausible” based on his knowledge of the situation.
The timing of Strack’s reported resignation the day after the lawsuit on O’Keefe was announced certainly raises questions about Strack’s motivations for leaving the company. Strack was an O’Keefe hire with previous experience working for Goldman Sachs.
The lawsuit claims that O’Keefe violated his contract with Veritas, allegedly setting up a competing company.
“I can’t really say much right now except that we’re working on a lot of big projects. … It’s going to take a lot more than that to stop us,” O’Keefe said in a statement to Resist the Mainstream before the news of Strack’s resignation broke.
O’Keefe was fired from Project Veritas on February 10, according to him and his lawyers, several days after he attended the “Edward de Vere Winter Ball,” a social function in New York’s West Village held to raise awareness about the Oxfordian theory of Shakespeare authorship.
At the event, O’Keefe read a monologue from the Shakespeare author’s “Henry V,” leading into musical performances by canceled indie star Ariel Pink and a self-described “eunuch” opera singer who performs under the name Salomé.
It is unclear whether O’Keefe’s abrupt departure from Project Veritas is connected to his participation in the controversial Shakespeare authorship event.
O’Keefe was portrayed in an unflattering light by communist scene journalist Michael Crumplar in an article chronicling the Edward de Vere Ball. There were also allegations of sexual impropriety in the wake of O’Keefe’s departure, which the founder vociferously denied.
