The CBS 62 meteorologist in Detroit who announced Monday that she will speak to Project Veritas about the network’s alleged discriminatory practices has been purportedly threatened with termination.
How we got here: April Moss, a meteorologist for CBS 62, accused the network of discrimination and said she will talk to Project Veritas during a live weather report. Project Veritas posted the clip of her announcement on Monday.
“And speaking of a brand new lead, I will be sitting down this week with Project Veritas to discuss the discrimination that CBS is enforcing upon its employees,” Moss said. “Tune into Project Veritas for my full story.”
The story: Later in the day, Project Veritas posted audio of a conversation between Moss a person who the organization identified as Chuck Davis, the chief engineer of CBS 62 WWJ-TV.
Davis scolded Moss for going off script and said she made a “selfish” move. He also told her that she might get fired for what she did.
“You may get terminated for that, are you aware of that?” he asked Moss.
When she confirmed, he asked: “Alright, so you’re O.K. with that then?”
“I understand if CBS decides to let me go, I do understand that,” Moss told Davis.
Davis then proceeded to criticize her decision to take a jab at the network during a live weather report.
“Why would you do that? You know, basically, that’s the most selfish thing I’ve ever seen, in all, in 36 years of working there, without even a close second. Because you don’t give a crap about anybody else, you know, and, like, if you get terminated, which you might, and then the burden is going to place on other people. You couldn’t care less. It’s just all about April Moss.”
When Moss pushed back against the label, Davis doubled down.
“You are. You’re all about April and that’s it. ‘I’m April Moss and here’s my stance.’ Regardless of the burden this is gonna put on anybody else.”
Moss then told him that she attempted to go through “all of the direct channels.”
“What do you think going on the air and getting fired is gonna do? You think that’s going to change their rules?” he asked.
Moss said that many organizations across the U.S. are “enforcing unfair, unfair standards on people.”
“I can’t believe you did that… I just can’t believe,” Davis said, according to the audio.

Project Veritas is yet to post an interview with Moss.
Meanwhile, Moss started a fundraiser, writing that she “felt led to stand up to the medical discrimination that was being enforced by ViacomCBS on its employees. The mandate for any individual to be tested for COVID19 for employment or participation at a university or other institution violates federal law.”
Why it matters? Moss is the second reporter this month to accuse a network of unfair practices on live TV. Reporter Ivory Hecker, who worked for a local Fox affiliate, similarly announced an interview with Project Veritas during live television and accused the network of “muzzling” her.
Fox 26 later fired Hecker.
