Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Union, is widely viewed as a profoundly woke, anti-parent, pro-vaccine and mask mandate, and untruthful leader.
The New York Times referred to Weingarten as “The most dangerous person in the world.”
Many have criticized the executive for attempting to rewrite history in her testimony before Congress.
Weingarten constantly fails fact-checks and recently was reprimanded on X after offending a Jewish religious community by sniping there were “no women” at an all-male prayer service.
The AFT president, who announced publicly in 2010 that she was a “deeply religious” Jew, made her poorly-received remark after viewing Mark Levin’s profile of a Jewish prayer event outside the White House. The service is known as a Minyan — it is a traditional gathering of men for prayer.
Jewish leaders scheduled the event to express support for Israel and to mourn victims of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack which left more than 1,300 Israeli civilians dead.
“Where are the women?” Weingarten asked in her post. Evidently expecting negative feedback, the post limits comments to Weingarten’s followers.
Though comments were not allowed on Weingarten’s feed, many criticized the AFT president on their own channels. Commentator Mark Levin blasted her and administrators at X issued a misleading context reprimand.
The generally articulate Levin responded to Weingarten’s post: “You’re such a contemptible moron. Get off my timeline, you idiot.”
Weingarten’s post was also criticized by Ilya Shapiro, the director of constitutional studies at the Manhattan Institute. Shapiro asked sarcastically: “Is this a satire account controlled by [School Choice Now senior fellow Corey DeAngelis]?”
Conservative political commentator Chad Felix Greene posted: “Her wife is a progressive LGBT-focused rabbi. This was her trying to shame the pro-Israel event.”
Greene added: “She knows her ideological peers will look down on and dismiss them as conservative.”
AG Hamilton posted: “How is it that the face of public education in America seems to know almost nothing about every subject imaginable?”
