TMZ reported that Randy Gonzalez, the father in the popular TikTok duo, Enkyboys, died on Wednesday morning. He was 35 years old.
According to reports, Gonzalez died in hospice care after a long struggle with colon cancer.
Gonzalez made a name for himself by posting funny lip-syncing videos. His likeability, sense of humor and sidekick (his young son Brice) were a formula for success. His following on TikTok exceeded 15.5 million.
Gonzalez was diagnosed with late-stage colon cancer in November 2021. He revealed his diagnosis to his followers on TikTok last April, noting his life expectancy was two-three years.
The social media influencer fought hard — telling fans he would fight to extend his life by pursuing chemotherapy and other treatments.
Sadly, in December 2022, Gonzales told his fans the chemotherapy treatments were “not working.”
Encountering mounting medical bills, Gonzalez created a GoFundMe account, which soon raised over $200,000.
Gonzalez wrote: “This fundraiser is to help me to pay for my treatment at MD Anderson and to bring awareness for Colon Cancer to all young men who are not familiar with it. For all who may not know it runs in their family or for those who may have mutated it like myself!”
In a November post, Gonzalez said that his chemotherapy treatments were “horrible.”
“Cancer sucks,” he said. “It sucks the life out of you and makes you feel like you have nothing to live for but in reality, you do. … You have to be strong to fight cancer and beat it. I want to be a testimony of this in another year or so when I’m still alive.”
In December, a frail Gonzalez told his followers, “I do feel good,” he said while standing next to his wife and their six-year-old son Brice. “I’m just happy we’re back in Texas with the family.”
The Daily Wire noted that Gonzalez’s son Brice recently landed the role of Chance on the hit NBC sitcom “Lopez vs. Lopez,” starring George Lopez. The show premiered in November.
Lopez wrote of Gonzalez’s passing:
“My sincerest condolences to Brice and the entire Gonzalez family. The love and the bond Randy had for his son, and his family was undeniable; you can see it in every video. He will be missed but never forgotten. My heart goes out to the entire family.”
Gonzalez is survived by his wife Kimberly, son Brice, and daughters Lauran and Aubree.
