Career diplomat and political operative Richard Grenell recently took to social media with a grave warning for citizens of the American republic, prompting a feisty exchange with CNN commentator and former politician Adam Kinzinger.
“Fear your government! They are coming for you. Biden has turned it into a system that listens to you, watches your transactions, cancels you for disagreeing with them and censoring your opinions. It’s getting worse. And no one in DC is worried because they are the perpetrators,” Grenell wrote on X.
Former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, an ostensible Republican, responded curtly to Grenell’s exhortation.
“Shut up,” Kinzinger replied.
Grenell, who previously served as U.S. ambassador to Germany, acting director of National Intelligence, and special presidential envoy for Serbia and Kosovo peace negotiations, fired back with a challenge.
“lol. Debate, Adam. Don’t shut down dissent views. Your J6 committee didn’t have a single dissenting voice on the entire committee – everyone agreed….but that isn’t the real world,” he retorted.
Kinzinger cast his vote in favor of impeaching then-President Donald Trump following the tumultuous events of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Serving as one of the mere two Republicans on the House select committee, a group tasked with investigating the Jan. 6 incident, he transitioned to a role as a CNN senior political commentator after his congressional tenure.
In stark contrast, Grenell has been steadfast in his criticisms of the Democrats, who he believes are responsible for stifling dissenting views.
“Everyone knows that today’s Democrats are afraid of dissenting views. They are crushing and cancelling people who don’t comply. And the media is helping. It’s unAmerican and intolerant,” Grenell wrote in an unrelated post.
“You must throw out Democrats from power,” Grenell continued.
