Some viewers of the Febrauary 6 Grammys on CBS literally wondered “What the hell?” when they watched the “Unholy” performance of Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
At least 18 people filed complaints with CBS and the Federal Communications Commission about the Satanic imagery of their act, according to a TMZ report.
“Sam Smith’s performance of ‘Unholy’ was not fit for prime time public television,” an Indiana complainant argued. “The dominatrix in bondage dancing in cages, the fiery images of Hell and Sam Smith dressed as the Devil in latex was clearly meant to shock and upset people.” The Brownsburg resident added the Sunday broadcast of the Grammys is supposed to be family entertainment and considered CBS airing the devil worship as disgraceful.
Another person complained about the evil imagery and devil-worshipping acolytes writhing around on the floor virtually naked.
“It was broadcast on live television,” the Hartwell, Georgia, resident exclaimed, “and I cannot believe CBS allowed it, unedited, and possibly with children watching. I was thoroughly disgusted and not amused in any way.”
The majority of other complaints also centered on the Satanic nature of the performance, according to the report, calling it textbook devil worship.
Some considered their performance anti-Christian with one worried the song may “increase violence against Christians.” Others expressed their offense with the bondage, dominance and sado-masochism and adult images.
“The performance of Sam Smith had people being whipped and in a cage,” one parent wrote furiously. “My 15 year old son who is an aspiring musician was traumatized by it.”
Conservative politicians added their objections to the public discourse.
“The Grammy’s featured Sam Smith’s demonic performance and was sponsored by Pfizer,” commented Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene in a Twitter post. “And the Satanic Church now has an abortion clinic in NM that requires its patients to perform a satanic ritual before services. American Christians need to get to work.”
She included a video clip of the raunchy performance under the caption of her Twitter post, which has been viewed 1.3 million times.
Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert tweeted that the Grammys were sponsored by Pfizer and President Biden’s State of the Union would be also sponsored by Pfizer though that would not be declared.
“The Satanic Temple is now opening abortion clinics that will perform abortion as a Satanic ritual,” Rep. Boebert said in a follow-up post on Twitter. “This is what the Left really meant by “safe, legal and rare.”
