A beer brand that was founded as a “woke-free” alternative to Bud Light raked in half a million dollars in just 12 hours after releasing a special edition can featuring the historic mugshot of former President Donald Trump.
Ultra Right Beer, a new brand set in motion following the sponsorship of transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney by Bud Light, created the can after Trump took his first mugshot in connection to his indictment in Georgia on 13 charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state.
Seth Weathers, the CEO of the beer producer, responded after the mugshot went viral by launching a limited-edition collector’s can in opposition to the charges made against the former president. The can will not be sold after Oct. 1.
Weathers said that the company had sold beer equal to over five tractor loads of cans, in what he described as “the most sought-after collector beer can in American history.”
“We knew people would go wild over these collector cans, but we had no idea the response would be this crazy,” said Weathers in a press release shared first with FOX Business, adding his belief that sales will top $2M by 11:59 on Sunday, when the can will be taken off the market.
“EACH SALE DEFENDS CONSERVATIVES AGAINST THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL PROSECUTION BY THE COMMUNIST FULTON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY! 10% of sales will be donated to the Georgia GOP Defense Fund and the David Shafer Legal Defense Fund to defend Georgia’s Trump electors against unjust political prosecution,” the description for the product reads.
“Sales have poured in from the moment we launched,” Weathers added. “With over $1 million in beer and merchandise sales, we’ve raised over $50,000 for the legal defense of the Georgia Trump electors and the Georgia Republican Party. Conservative Dad’s Ultra Right Beer puts our money where our mouth is – we’re doing our part to fight back against the unjust persecution of American patriots.”
Ultra Right has only been in business since April when the boycott of Bud Light began but continues to grow in popularity among beer drinkers — surpassing a million dollars in sales within the first two weeks on the market. Their standard “Ultra Right” beer goes for $19.99 and can be purchased on their website.
