Editor’s note: Our original report was that a “sock” was found in the airline attendant’s mouth, but information has come to light that it was a “cloth.”
Authorities have identified the American Airlines flight attendant found dead in a hotel room with a “cloth” in her mouth.
The Philadelphia police informed The Messenger that Diana Ramos, 66, was the woman discovered deceased in her room by hotel staff at the Marriott near Philadelphia International Airport on Monday around 10:45 p.m.
“We are devastated by this news. Our thoughts are with the family and colleagues, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure all affected have the support they need during this difficult time,” the airline said.
The airline also asserted their commitment to cooperation with the investigation. “We will continue to cooperate fully with local law enforcement in their investigation.”
No arrests have been made, and her body is now with the Medical Examiner. The discovery of the body occurred after Ramos failed to check out of the hotel two days earlier.
Multiple sealed prescription medication bottles were found in her room, as reported by police and cited by NBC10. The investigation, as stated by Philadelphia police, remains “active and ongoing” with the Homicide Detectives Division.
